FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE West Osceola Friends of the Library Achieves IRS 501(c)3 Not-for-Profit StatusCelebration, Florida - December 16, 2004 - The West Osceola Friends of the Library, incorporated on April 29, 2004 has received confirmation from the IRS that its application for certification as a public charity under Chapter 501(c)3 was approved on December 13, 2004. The IRS also informed WOFOL that the certification was effective as of the date of incorporation - April, 29, 2004. About the West Osceola Friends of the Library Mission and PurposeThe purpose of The Friends is threefold:
BackgroundThe community of Celebration has been discussing the possibility of opening a full service branch of the Osceola Library in Celebration since the inception of the Lakeside Volunteer Library. A group of dedicated library volunteers realized that only a strong show of community support would demonstrate their commitment to the Osceola County commissioners for the next Osceola branch library to be built in Celebration. The West Osceola Friends of the Library was incorporated on April 29, 2004, and is registered with the State of Florida as a public charity that is permitted to raise funds through donations, contributions, and memberships. The following information is provided to enable prospective contributors to make an informed choice regarding their participation in the Friends mission.
